Deborah is one of Australia’s leading screen editors.

With a career spanning over 20 years, her credits are synonymous with some of Australia’s most groundbreaking and internationally successful television. This work includes MYSTERY ROAD and LAMBS OF GOD which both premiered in competition at Series Mania, TOTAL CONTROL the first Australian series to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival and Tim Minchin’s UPRIGHT which Joss Whedon hailed as his “favourite show since FLEABAG”.

Deborah worked alongside director Glendyn Ivin to edit 4 episodes of THE LOST FLOWERS OF ALICE HART, adapted from Holly Ringland’s bestselling novel and starring Sigourney Weaver.  The series won the 2024 AACTA Award for Best Miniseries and Deborah received two editing nominations for her work on episodes 1 & 6. The series is the most successful Australian release worldwide for Amazon Prime.

Feature film credits include Gracie Otto’s SERIOUSLY RED starring Krew Boylan, Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale and screened at SXSW in 2022; and the yet to be released romance/comedy ADDITION from director Marcelle Lunam, starring Teresa Palmer and Joe Dempsie.

Deborah has worked alongside some of the country’s most respected and prolific directors including Wayne Blair, Glendyn Ivin, Gracie Otto, Rachel Perkins, Leah Purcell, Shawn Seet and Jeffrey Walker.

An accredited member of the Australian Screen Editors guild, she has been nominated for 9 Ellie Awards winning twice and received 8 AACTA nominations taking home the the award for her work on THE CODE and MYSTERY ROAD.

Working recently with Made Up Stories, Peart edited STRIFE, which has set new viewing records for streamer Binge and is currently in post production on the series adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s THE LAST ANNIVERSARY, co-produced with Nicole Kidman and Per Saari’s Blossom Films and starring Teresa Palmer, Miranda Richardson and Danielle MacDonald.
